Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung e.V.

The Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung (Institute for Tourism and Development) concerns itself with development related information and education in tourism. In this context it edits material for publication, it organises international contests, it offers training and seminars for people employed in the tourism sector, it is active in the area of tourism research and consultancy and it is involved in the public debate on tourism development issues.

The German language "SympathieMagazine" ("magazines of understanding") inform about European and Non-European travel destinations. They want to faciliate understanding for the way of life and habits of people in a host country through interesting insights behind the touristic image, through reports about every day life, about cultural, economic, social and political phenomena. Supplementary to magazines dealing with individual countries, a few magazines focus on specific issues such as religions, the environment and the "alien", tourism. The series is updated and extended continuously. The Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung is a registered non-profit organisation working freely and independently.
